For students commencing study in an Education degree in 2018, additional selection criteria have been implemented in Victoria and universities across Australia.
This is part of a measure to increase the quality of teaching in Australia. You will need to adhere to the following:
- Achieve a minimum ATAR of 65 – you will need to check with the university you are planning to study at as the ATAR may be higher than this.
- Complete the CASPER Test – this is an online video-based judgement test. The test is designed to measure the ethics, empathy and communication (selected universities will require this, including the Australian Catholic University).
- Achieve the prerequisites – many universities now have a more comprehensive prerequisite for entry into an Education program. Depending on the university you may need to have completed units in mathematics.
Please check VTAC Course Search for prerequisite information.
